Don’t Miss Lamanpalooza Saturday
The William F. Laman Public Library System will hold the fifth annual LAMANPALOOZA on Saturday, August 2nd from 10am – 2pm, behind the Argenta Branch Library, 420 Main Street, downtown NLR.LAMANPALOOZA’s outdoor activities include: inflatables, 100 foot zip line, caricatures by Jim Tindall, Marty Boone – the balloon-maker on stilts, Tommy Norman doing finger prints, dunk tanks, games, music, crafts, and a lot of family fun.  The first 2,000 people will be able to receive a free hot dog, drink, chips and cookies.

History Tour Features Old Post Office

The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program’s next “Sandwiching in History” tour will visit the old North Little Rock Post Office at 420 Main Street in North Little Rock at noon on Friday, August 1.

The Post Office was built in 1931-1932 and was the city’s first stand-alone post office building. In June 2012 the United States Postal Service closed the post office, and a few months later, the building was purchased by the William F. Laman Public Library System to serve as a new location for the Argenta Branch Library. The newly renovated library opened in April 2014.

Argenta Library Hosts Tales From the South

Tuesday, August 5, Tales From the South features author Crow Johnson Evans at the Argenta Branch Library.

Thea Foundation Hosts Exhibit Opening

The fourth installment of The Art Department features the works of painter John Harlan Norris with a reception Friday, Aug.8, 6:30 to 9:00pm. at the Thea Foundation.

$10 at the door covers heavy hors d’oeuvres, open bar, live musical performance and the chance to win an original painting by John Harlan Norris. Pottery Classes Now Forming at Claytime
